| How do I get access to TheSourcebookOnline.com? |
| You must create a user account to access the SB database. Click on
"Register as a New User" to get started. Click the response choices
which apply to you and fill out your name, email, and preferred password.
|
| Why do I need to create a User Account? |
| TheSourcebookOnline is constantly evolving, and in the very near
future many new features will become available. Some of these will
require security protection for our users, and anonymous access will
not make sense. We also believe in both quality Venders and quality
Users. When you create a user account, it is an extra measure in the
direction of that guarantee.
|
Why does it say my "email is already being used" when I try to create a User Account? |
| This means an account has already been created under the email you
typed. The email that identifies you must be unique. You may have
typed it wrong; you wouldn't be receiving email in that account unless
it was uniquely your email address. If you receive this message in
error, please contact us immediately so we can investigate who has
been using your email address.
|
| How do I retrieve my password? |
| There is no way for TheSourcebookOnline employees to see your
password because it is encrypted as it is stored. If you forget your
password you will have to reset it by clicking the "Reset Password"
button. The system will email you a new password.
|
I tried to use "Reset Password" but did not receive an email with my new password. |
| Some email providers have a spam blocker that blocks our password
emails. To get around this issue please add
sourcebook@ix.netcom.com to your contact list or address book.
Known providers with this issue are @mac.com and @me.com and
there are others as well.
|
| How do I change my password? |
| Your Password can be changed by clicking on the tab "My Profile" and
typing in your new password in the entry field next to "*Password" and
typing it again just below that next to "Confirm Password". When you
are satisfied with the new password, simply click the button at the
bottom of the page "Save Changes to My Profile".
|
How do I save my password to be automatically applied when I login? |
| Many browsers offer a choice to save passwords on websites, and
automatically use that password when visiting the site. We do not
recommend this because anybody else who has access to your computer
can then login as you, and this defeats security. Also, some
browsers allow anyone using them on your computer to see all of your
saved passwords with just a few clicks in their tools menu; for example,
Firefox does this.
